Church Based Ministry Training

Nazarene Bible College (NBC) offers a great approach for ministry preparation. Our Church-Based Ministry Training (CBMT) program equips high capacity church leaders for effective ministry through hands-on learning in a local church setting. Students enrolled in CBMT combine the best of academics and practics while immersed in the life of a local congregation.

The CBMT program is uses hands-on learning to provide students with the practical ministry skills they'll need in the 21st century. There are two program options

    High Capacity Leader Training

    NBC awards this certificate to students who complete the 16 three-credit-hour competency-focused courses

  • 2

    Church of the Nazarene Ordination Course

    Completing the High Capacity Leader Training can lead to fulfilling the educational requirements for ordination in the Church of the Nazarene; when students enroll at NBC and complete the balance of the required courses through the Ministry Preparation Program.

Mentoring

CBMT combines academics and practice through experience in the church. Students learn Bible, theology, through the Ministry Preparation Program at NBC. Students gain ministry experience at a local church through mentoring and coaching by pastors.

Competency

As a competency-based program, the focus is not on grades but on achieving competency. As such, students must demonstrate competence in their ability to do what they have studied. The training is hands-on and on-site rather than classroom or textbook-learning based.
